“This collection pulls on a diverse range of subject matter from the Byzantine empire to Stanley Kubrick films. I wanted to offer something which feels dynamic yet had a strong reference to history.”
– Kit Miles, Founder
This year’s Clerkenwell Design Week promises to be nothing short of spectacular, showcasing for the very first time a series of all-new textiles, wallpapers and home products.
There could be no doubt as to what one particular design in the new collection suggests an homage, the designer says, “to the hand-craftsmanship for which we are known.” ‘Ecclesiastical Botanica’ swoops and meanders gracefully across space in this large-scale and intensely ornamental wallpaper. A lyrical and often surprising use of colour guides the eye across the design, which is accented with lavish colour combinations to reflect the way in which the hanging ornaments dance, as if flickering in a surreal otherworldly light.
The studio’s vivid imaginings on a theme set a bold tone at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week, combining hyper-realistic hand-drawn works such as Byzantium and Pendants against the futuristic and highly abstracted wing of the studio’s design language, seen in such designs as Kubrick and Cylinders.
